Healthcare Quality and Assessment Research

Investigators at the Center for Clinical and Community Research are actively studying ways to improve the quality of care that children receive in hospitals. They also are using findings to develop better procedures and safer treatments, as well as to reduce medical errors.

The Center’s healthcare quality specialists are actively researching
  1. Patient safety and medical errors
  2. The use of sophisticated statistical techniques and assessment tools
  3. Ways to improve the admission and evaluation of pediatric Emergency Department patients
  4. The effects of race and ethnicity on hospital admission practices
  5. Better ways to assess the risks of blood product transfusions in hospitalized children
