Nursing

The Department of Nursing Research within the Center for Clinical and Community Research formed in early 2009 with the appointment of a director, Pamela S. Hinds, PhD, RN, and expanded subsequently with the addition of four appointments and linkages to the nursing team of the General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) at Children’s National. Critical to this early development has been the leadership of Nellie Robinson, RN, MS, Executive Vice President of Nursing and Patient Care Services, as well as Suzanne Feetham, PhD, RN, and Cathie Guzzetta, PhD, RN. To date, Nursing Research provides active support for 12 approved studies. Extramural funding sources include two institutes at the National Institutes of Health, a private foundation, and a product company.
