Down Syndrome

Malformations of cortical development are increasingly recognized as important causes of developmental disabilities and other pediatric neurological disorders. Tarik F. Haydar, PhD, is studying the embryonic cortical development in Ts16 and Ts65DN mice, two models of Down Syndrome, using two-photon microscopy to perform long-term live imaging of cortical cells in brain tissue slices.
