Depression in Childhood
Led by Cynthia R. Potter, PhD, of the Center for Health Services and Community Research, and funded by NIMH, this area of focus looks at psychosocial and environmental risk factors for maternal depression. The research attempts to integrate social epidemiology and social psychology. Dr. Potter is particularly interested in identity development as a mediator between a woman's social environment and her risk for affective disorders.
