Children’s National’s Chief of GI Appointed to World Health Organization Position May 8, 2008

Washington, DC - Children’s National Medical Center’s John Snyder, MD, Chief of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, has been invited to serve on the World Health Organization’s International Health Regulations (IHR) Roster of Experts as an expert in Pediatrics and Maternal Health. Dr. Snyder will serve on this prestigious panel of experts for a 4-year term. The IHR was established in 2005 to develop the framework for the coordination of the management of events that may constitute a public health emergency of international concerns.
Dr. Snyder joined Children’s National Medical Center in 2007. He is considered an expert in a variety of GI disorders and has worked extensively in the fields of infant nutrition and international child health. His current research interest is H. pylori.
