Washington, DC—Children’s National Medical Center is honored to be one of only eight children’s hospitals in the country named to The Leapfrog Group’s 2007 Top Hospitals, based on results from the Leapfrog Hospital Quality and Safety Survey. Children’s National is the only pediatric hospital selected from the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions to receive this designation.
"We provide an unrivaled level of pediatric care to the Washington metropolitan area in terms of quality and maintaining the safety and security of our patients," said Edwin K. Zechman, Jr., president and CEO of Children’s National Medical Center. "Being recognized by this prestigious survey is exciting for all of us and is a testament of the talented team of pediatric experts at Children’s. We’re honored and proud to make this list."
The complete list of top hospitals as well as the survey’s methodology, can be found at http://www.leapfroggroup.org/news/leapfrog_news/Top_Hospitals .
"To be singled out as a best institution among the almost 1,300 hospitals that participated in the survey shows our continued impact on the health of children regionally, nationally and internationally," said Peter Holbrook, MD, chief medical officer at Children’s National Medical Center. "We strive to be preeminent in providing high-quality pediatric healthcare services through care, advocacy, research, and education, and it is an honor to be recognized for our work."
