Really good site for the discerning Pediatrician, or for those family practitioners who want really good reviews on core-peds PDA programs.

From Dr Oh's PalmMed Pages, Accessed March 20, 2005

This is a great site and an amazing resource for all of us interested in pediatrics. It has great reviews of virtually every peds program out there!

http://www.pediatricsonhand.com (This is the best site for pediatric PDA usage I've found. It has recommendations, reviews, links to software, and links to other sites.)

www.pedsonhand.com (that's Peds On Hand) David C. Stockwell, MD- MY FAVORITE site (V. Niebuhr). Very well laid out, with links to pda software publishers, pda software vendors, pda hardware companies. And check the Quick Links on the left sidebar (for Professionals (all the links you might ever want — not just about handhelds), Parents (lots of links here — not just about pda's) and Handheld users

Pediatrics on Hand — no better web site for links to and reviews of pediatric applications and files for your PDA

From Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Accessed April 18, 2003

Cor E-HEALTH TREND WATCH-Insight....not just news March 27, 2003 Issue 94

Pediatrics on Hand is a self-funded, nonprofit site developed by a physician to provide "an objective source of pediatric handheld information." Offerings include:
-A new user guide with an overview of handheld options and uses, and definitions of technologies and resources such as iSilo and HanDBase.
-A best of the best page to "boil down the overwhelming amount of information and recommendations about PDAs and what programs you need." It offers a run-down of top programs, including free programs such as MedCalc, tools such as Vindigo and Backup buddy, medical e-text publishers, best handhelds by features and best pediatric PDA programs.
-PDA news, from sources such as PalmPower.com, PalmInfocenter.com and VisorCentral.com, along with a hyperlinked list of favorite handheld news sources.

From Healthcare Guide to the Internet March 27, 2003

"Need help with hand-held (personal digital assistant) technology? Try Pediatrics on Hand, run by Children's National Medical Center of Washington, DC, a nonprofit organization (Actually this is not a correct statement as this site is entirely independent, correction requested with Contemporary Peds) . The Web site provides an advertising-free source of drug data, technology advice, and other useful information at www.pediatricsonhand.com."

From Resources in Contemporary Pediatrics (January 2003)

Pediatrics on Hand-Description: A site devoted entiely to PDA use in the pediatrician field. Includes: reviews of pda software/hardware, "the Best of the Best" section listing the top 5 pda apps that all pediatricians should have. Pediatrics on Hand Library — provides descriptions and links to very "handy" apps. The site does not "look" that great, but there is a wealth of information specifically for pediatricians. (Obviously before the new face lift :-))

From East Tennessee State U Medical Library Portal

The mobile informatics site of the month: March 2002

"A comprehensive site with: links, news, top 5 (or maybe 6) applications, new user tips, a parents section, and lots more. Peds does not need to be your specialty for you benefit from this site, there is something here for everyone!"

From PDA Cortex at http://www.pdacortex.com

"Heading into your Peds rotation? Check out the Pediatrics on Hand web site to get the latest in PDA software for pediatrics. The site has several useful sections, such as PDA news, New User Guide, and Program Reviews. However the Top 5 Picks section and the Peds Library section are both outstanding. The Top 5 Picks has recommendations for different types of PDA software: general, medical, and pediatric. For example, the 2002 Childhood Immunization schedule is one of the top 5 pediatric programs, and its free! The Peds Library has links to a variety of resources; everything form drug dosing to growth charts."

"Pediatrics on Hand meets all your Peds PDA needs."

From Wright State University Libraries New@Fordham May 2002 - Fordham Health Sciences Library Newsletter

"The Pediatrics on Hand site is dedicated to encouraging everyone in pediatrics to become more interested in Palm-based handhelds, and truly covers the topic of handheld technology for pediatrics. The site offers personal digital assistant (PDA) information and news, a PDA pediatrics library, information on documents and databases, including downloading and installation, reviews of documents and databases, links to pediatrics and PDA sites, and a search function. The PDA information section enables clinicians to conceptualize a PDA-focused world, provides a top-five list for PDA software and hardware, and offers PDA news, pediatric programs and files, and links. The PDA pediatrics library offers a pediatric software page featuring relatively new pediatric handheld programs and other files, documents for a document reader/ ISilo program, databases for the Handbase program, and PDA programs for wards, units, emergency rooms, and clinics. Also included are recommendations for favorite document readers, database programs, and drug databases, including free versions of these programs and a guide on how to download efficiently."
