Heart and Kidney Unit (HKU)

Nursing Inpatient Director
Lisa Williams, MHA, BSN, RNC, NE-BC

The Heart and Kidney Unit (HKU) is a 20-bed inpatient unit for patients ranging in age from birth to adulthood. Nursing staff in the HKU specialize in caring for patients with cardiac and renal disorders using a family-centered care philosophy. Their expertise includes post-cardiac and post-renal transplant management, peritoneal dialysis and chest tube management. Nursing staff complete the pediatric CARDIAC stable program as part of their required nursing education program.
