Child Psychiatry Unit (CPU)

Director of Nursing, Psychiatry

The Child Psychiatry Unit is a 12-bed acute care unit. Nursing care focuses on a child and family-oriented program to provide crisis intervention and stabilization. Each patient receives a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan to begin the process of emotional healing and control. The Director of Nursing, Psychiatry manages the daily operation of the unit in addition to supervision of registered nurses (RNs), child psychiatric specialists (CPSs), Licensed Social Worker (LICSW) and other unlicensed personnel.

The nursing staff leads therapy groups to meet the patient’s needs and provides one-on-one interventions such as counseling, attending time and behavioral interventions to facilitate internal control.
