Continuing Nursing Education

At Children’s we strongly support the skill and career advancement of all members of our nursing team. Therefore we offer continuing education programs for nurses throughout the year. These on-site, off-site and online programs enhance professional development in nursing practice, education, administration, and research, all of which positively impact patient care outcomes and patient safety.

As part of our commitment to excellence, we offer tuition reimbursement for any accredited school or institution to all full- and part-time RNs who have successfully completed six months of continuous employment.

The Department of Nursing’s Staff Development Office is accredited as a provider of Continuing Education in Nursing by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Nurses who successfully complete educational activities (such as conferences, workshops and distance learning) that meet the ANCC criteria are awarded contact hours.
