Health Education Program

Data shows that many parents opt to use the emergency room rather than wait for an appointment with their child's primary care physician. Children's National Emergency Department Health Education Program (at United Medical Center) was established with the goal of educating families on the proper use of the emergency department and the importance of finding and using a medical home for comprehensive health care for their child. The health educators not only educate, they also assist in locating a primary care provider and schedule appointments as necessary.
