Advocacy Across the Nation

Children’s National Medical Center’s national advocacy efforts include:

  • Safe Kids Worldwide In 1987, Children’s launched the first national advocacy organization solely dedicated to pediatric injury prevention.


  • The Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) National Resource Center (NRC) The EMSC was established in 1991 to help states reduce child and youth disability and death due to severe illness or injury.


  • The National Resource Center supports the federal EMSC Program, which is administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration with collaboration from the U.S. Department of Transportation's, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
