  Children’s National has a new Division of Rheumatology

Led by Lawrence K. Jung, MD, the Division of Rheumatology diagnoses and treats patients with pediatric rheumatologic and immunologic diseases, performs clinical and bench research, and provides access to clinical trials through the Pediatric Rheumatology Collaborative Study Group and the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatism Research Alliance.

The Rheumatology team diagnoses and treats patients with pediatric rheumatologic diseases including:
  • Juvenile idiopathic arthritis
  • Systemic lupus erythematosus
  • Juvenile dermatomyosis
  • Systemic vasculitis
  • Post-infectious complications
  • Systemic and linear scleroderma
  • Auto-inflammatory disorders
  • Organ-specific autoimmune diseases
Children’s National’s Rheumatology team works closely with occupational therapy, physical therapy, physical medicine, and other subspecialties throughout the hospital.
