Conflict of Interest

The growing involvement of scientific, academic and clinical investigators with industrial organizations (pharmaceutical, biotechnical and device industries) has heightened concerns about potential conflicts of interest in these interactions. Children's Research Institute (CRI) acknowledges that conflicts of interest are neither inherently wrong nor avoidable in all cases. CRI’s goal is to develop the means to manage material conflicts of interest and ensure that the integrity of the investigator, CRI, and the academic research, training or clinical activities of Children's National community are not compromised or perceived to be compromised by considerations of personal gain or financial benefit.

Therefore, it is the policy of Children's National subsidiary, Children's Research Institute, that all research personnel must refrain from any conflicts of interest, ensuring their activities and interests do not conflict with their obligations to CRI or its welfare.

Requests for information on financial conflicts of interest related to Public Health Service-funded research shall be directed to the Privacy Officer at swalter@childrensnational.org or (301) 572-6348.

Please see our policy and our procedure.
