Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Fellowship
Education
One of the exciting aspects of fellowship training is the rapidity of the learning curve! One of the goals of our training program is to allow the fellow adequate time to read and process, as well as to develop critical thinking and research skills. At least one half day per week of the fellow’s time will be devoted to research efforts. He or she will be expected to produce at least one manuscript of publishable quality during the fellowship year. The fellow will attend the IPOS course and may attend at least one other meeting, plus any meeting at which he or she is presenting a podium presentation.
The fellow also joins the faculty in giving some of the morning conference lectures to the residents and presenting cases at weekly grand rounds. Teaching conferences are held three mornings a week, and grand rounds are held each Thursday morning. There are also monthly multidisciplinary spine conferences and orthopedic research conferences in which the fellow will participate.
