Driving Directions: From points south:
  • I-270 North towards Frederick
  • Take exit 8, stay in left lane
  • Turn left onto Shady Grove Road. Stay in the left-hand lane
  • After crossing over I-270, turn left at second light onto Corporate Boulevard
  • Take the first or second left turn into the parking area.
    You will want to enter the building at the South Entrance (the end of the building closest to the parking lot entrance). When inside the lobby, take the elevator to the Third Floor. As you exit the elevator, our office will be immediately to your left.
From points west:
  • I-270 South
  • Take exit 8 for Shady Grove Road
  • Stay in the left of the two right-hand turn lanes
  • After turning right onto Shady Grove Road, get in the far left lane and make a left onto Corporate Boulevard at the first light
  • Take the first or second left turn into the parking area

Biography

Karin S. Walsh, PhD, is a pediatric neuropsychologist in the Division of Pediatric Neuropsychology. Dr. Walsh is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry, and Behavioral Medicine with the George Washington University School of Medicine and Children’s National Medical Center. She is the neuropsychologist to the Brain Tumor and Neurofibromatosis Institutes at Children’s National. She provides and supervises clinical neuropsychological evaluations and consultations to a variety of pediatric populations, including brain tumor, leukemia and other cancers, as well as neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1).

Dr. Walsh is an active clinical researcher and publishes research in the areas of cognitive late effects in cancer survivors, as well as cognitive and psychosocial impairments associated with NF1. She is also involved in intervention research, specifically targeting learning and executive function difficulties in both of these patient populations. She is chair of the neurocognitive committee for the Response Evaluation in Neurofibromatosis and Schwannomatosis (REiNS) working group, and a member of the neurocognitive committee of the NF Consortium. Finally, Dr. Walsh is co-director of the pre-doctoral externship training program with the Division of Pediatric Neuropsychology and is an active participant in the education and mentorship of pre- and post-doctoral students in psychology, neuropsychology, and medicine.
