| Biography
Eleanor Mackey, PhD is a a general child psychologist with Children’s National, and a member of Children's Obesity Institute. She works with children and teens who struggle with eating and weight concerns, which include problems with being overweight as well as disordered eating and unsafe weight loss behaviors.
Dr. Mackey has worked with children and teens for many years. She earned her PhD from the University of Miami, where her research focused on peer influences on teens’ eating, exercise, and weight control behaviors. As part of her PhD program, she completed an internship and subsequently her fellowship residency at Children’s National from 2006 - 2009, where she is now on the faculty as part of the Division of Psychology, one of the largest psychology teams in the region focused exclusively on children and teens.
