Biography
Randall Burd, MD, PhD, is a pediatric surgeon and chief of the Emergency Trauma and Burn Services Division at Children’s National Medical Center. Dr. Burd has had a long-standing clinical and research interest in pediatric trauma. His research focuses on developing new approaches for the care of children soon after injury and his research is funded by the National Science Foundation.

He is a member of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST) and the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma and now serves as the Chair of the Trauma Committee for the American Pediatric Surgical Association.
