Legislative Resources

The Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) National Resource Center recommends the following web sites and resources to help familiarize grantees with the federal and state legislative and regulatory process.

  • U.S. Senate: The official website of the U.S. Senate.

  • U.S. House of Representatives: The official website of the U.S. House of Representatives.

  • THOMAS: A service of the Library of Congress that contains legislative information.

  • Office of Management and Budget: An agency within the Executive Office of the President that oversees the preparation of the federal budget and supervises its administration in executive branch agencies.

  • GPO Access: A service of the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) that disseminates official information from all three branches of the federal government.

  • C-SPAN: Provides access to the live gavel-to-gavel proceedings of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, as well as other forums where public policy is discussed, debated, and decided.

  • CapitolHearings.org: A service of C-SPAN that provides live committee proceedings of the U.S. Senate.

  • National Governors Association: A bipartisan organization of the Nation’s governors.

  • National Conference of State Legislators: A bipartisan organization that serves the legislators and staffs of the nation's 50 states and all U.S. territories.

  • Stateline.org: An independent element of the Pew Research Center that provides timely tips and research material on state policy innovations and trends.
