Through Children’s Regional Outpatient Centers, Children’s National Heart Institute is able to provide the most advanced pediatric cardiac care in your community.
Children’s Outpatient Cardiology team provides services at 20 different locations across the region, from Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore to St. Mary’s, Maryland; and from Leesburg, Virginia, to Hagerstown, Maryland. Our specialists see more than 14,000 children for outpatient visits each year.
All Regional Outpatient Centers are equipped with state-of-the-art electrocardiography and echocardiography technology to support a complete evaluation of patients, and provide services for children and adults with congenital heart disease — Children’s renown cardiac care closer to home.
Specialty nurses are available Monday through Friday to help patients and families with their specific concerns about medications and conditions.

Each clinic team includes a board-certified pediatric cardiologist, cardiac nurse, and pediatric echocardiography technologist. To assist families and physicians’ offices, a nurse triage line is available for patient care questions and advice Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. Additionally, families may call our prescription line for medication refills. The nurse triage line is 202-476-4809.
