Comprehensive Spine Program The Division of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at Children’s National Medical Center has made continuous strides to provide outstanding care through its Comprehensive Spine Program. Four pediatric orthopaedic surgeons and three pediatric neurosurgeons provide diagnostic and treatment services for children and teens with conditions including idiopathic scoliosis, congenital spine deformities, spinal trauma, and spinal tumors.
Children’s has the largest team of pediatric spine specialists in the region, providing the highest level of expertise to patients and families. Each year Children’s performs more than 100 surgeries to help children with spinal deformities.
Our surgeons are backed by an experienced team of physician assistants, nurses, a social worker, and a surgery coordinator who walks our families through the process of planning surgery and handling insurance approvals.
Children’s is a leader in the use of state-of-the-art tools, such as intraoperative MRI and CT imaging, to assist surgeons during complex procedures, as well as research aimed at improving the care of children with spinal disorders. - Departments & Programs - Children's National Medical Center
