General and Community Pediatrics
Children’s provides primary care for more than 80,000 patients, ages birth to 21 years old, annually in the District of Columbia. Care is offered at an assortment of convenient locations: two Children's Health Centers in the hospital, five community health centers, and through the mobile health vans.
Primary care health services include:
- Well child check-ups
- School and sports physicals
- Immunizations
- Developmental testing & screening for delays
- Care for minor injuries and illnesses
- On-going care for children with special needs and health problems
- Prescription refills
- Assistance with school and daycare health forms
- Help with Medicaid applications
- Referrals to Children's specialty services
- Comprehensive adolescent health care
