Renal Bladder Sonogram

A renal sonogram is a safe and painless test. An ultrasound machine produces a renal sonogram, which is a picture (image) of your child’s urinary system. A renal sonogram (sometimes called an ultrasound) is often performed in addition to other tests when your child has a urinary tract infection (UTI) or other urinary system disorder. A specially trained sonographer with Children’s Division of Imaging and Radiology performs the tests. Doctors from the Division of Urology work together with radiologists and other specialists to interpret the images and identify the possible causes or your child’s condition.
