Solid Tumor Program
The Solid Tumor Program at Children’s National Medical Center is composed of a team of pediatric oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, nurse practitioners, and laboratory scientists who specialize in the treatment of children with solid tumors. The group participates in clinical trials sponsored by the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) to ensure that patients have access to the most current therapies. Members of the Children’s Solid Tumor Program are nationally recognized for their research on pediatric solid tumors.
The program sees patients with:

Melanoma
- Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma
- Neuroblastoma
- Non-Rhabdomyosarcomatous soft tissue sarcoma
- Retinoblastoma
- Rhabdomyosarcoma
- Bone tumors (osteosarcoma and Ewing sarcoma)
- Germ cell tumor
- Wilms tumor and other kidney tumors
In addition, the Patient and Family Support Program provides comprehensive mental health and psychosocial services and helpful resources for all patients treated in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, as well as patients’ parents and siblings. - Departments & Programs - Children's National Medical Center
