Headache Program

Children’s National Medical Center’s Headache Clinic evaluates and treats headaches and head pains of all causes, treating more than 2,000 patients annually.

The Children’s Headache Clinic team members belong to the pediatric section of the American Headache Society and work closely with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to meet the special needs of patients and their families with headache disorders. Our physicians research and participate in clinical trials to locate factors influencing causes of headaches in children and adolescents.

The Children’s Headache Clinic is led by William McClintock, MD and Joseph Scheller, MD, child neurologists who have extensive experience treating headache disorders. The Headache Clinic treats only those with frequent or chronic, debilitating head pains, headaches and migraines. - Departments & Programs - Children's National Medical Center
