Voice Clinic
The Voice Clinic at Children’s National Medical Center evaluates and manages pediatric voice disorders. The Voice Clinic is part of the Division of Otolaryngology, which specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, throat, and head and neck disorders.
A Voice Clinic evaluation includes:
- a consultation with an otolaryngologist
- an evaluation of the upper aerodigestive tract
- a complete voice evaluation with a speech pathologist
A team discussion with the formulation of a treatment plan follows the evaluation.

Children's experienced team can evaluate and treat a variety of voice conditions. Conditions most commonly evaluated include hoarseness (dysphonia), an abnormally rough or harsh-sounding voice caused by vocal abuse and other disorders.
