Orthodontics Program
The Orthodontics program offers a full range of orthodontic services for both children and adults. The program currently has more than 200 patients who are cared for by dental specialists using the most advanced materials and treatment techniques, including clear braces and Invisalign™.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that all children have an orthodontic evaluation by age 7, and CNMC orthodontists agree: early recognition of orthodontic problems is critical. The earlier the specialists can design a corrective orthodontic treatment plan, the quicker a child can have healthy, beautiful, and functional teeth.
In addition, the hospital’s orthodontists are well-versed in childhood growth and cognitive development, and know the optimal time to begin treatment, which can sometimes reduce the time spent wearing braces or other corrective devices.
Team-oriented dental care
The staff believes in using a team approach to treatment that includes the child (both to ease fears and build a sense of responsibility) as well as doctors and parents.
Because the orthodontists can tap into a large network of doctors, experts, and specialists at the hospital, this practice is especially well-suited for children with special needs or children with complex or difficult cases. All of the hospital’s dental specialists are available to patients for consultation and referral, including pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, periodontics, prosthodontics, and endodontics.
For patients with budget concerns, treatment by orthodontic residents in the postdoctoral program under the supervision of the hospital’s highly-qualified faculty means that the cost of orthodontic treatment is a good value.
