The Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Toxicology Laboratory at Children’s offers accurate measurement of all routinely-used drugs for which therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) has been shown to be beneficial.

Among the tests offered are:
  • Amikacin (peak, trough)
  • Carbamazapine
  • Cyclosporin
  • Digoxin
  • FK506
  • Gentamicin (peak, trough)
  • Phenobarbital
  • Phenytoin
  • Sirolimus
  • Tobramycin (peak, trough)
  • Valproic Acid
  • Vancromycin (peak, trough)
The laboratory team uses tandem mass spectrometric (MS-MS) measurement testing for immunosuppressive drugs used to prevent rejection in organ transplantation and drugs (Protease inhibitors, NRTIS, NNRTIS) used to treat HIV/AIDs, epilepsy and other drugs.
